With Lingopie’s Private 1:1 Lessons, you get personalized sessions with expert teachers who tailor each class to your level. The lessons follow a structured program that ties directly to the shows in our catalog, so you can move smoothly from A1 to C2 while building grammar, vocabulary, and real-life conversation skills.

Right now, private lessons are available in Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese, with more languages coming soon.


How do I schedule my first session?

  1. Go to the Live Lessons section on the left sidebar.
  2. Switch the top tab from Group Lessons to Private Lessons.
  3. Click Book Your First Lesson and complete the subscription process.
  4. Once your plan is active, a calendar with available teachers will appear.
  5. Choose the time slot that works best for you. The calendar is set to your current time zone, but you can adjust it if you are traveling by selecting a different region under the calendar days and times.
  6. In your first lesson, the teacher will assess your level and goals, and recommend shows from the catalog to prepare for your next session.


How do I schedule my next session?

Private lessons are weekly, 45-minute sessions, and we recommend taking one class per week for optimal results. To book your next lesson:

  1. Access the Live Lessons section and switch to Private Lessons.
  2. Click Schedule Another Lesson to view available time slots.
  3. Select a teacher based on either your previous session or your preferred schedule.
  4. Confirm your time. Your upcoming lesson will automatically appear in the calendar.


How can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?

  • Life happens — you can easily cancel or reschedule lessons.
  • A confirmation email is sent when you book. The lesson is also added to your calendar (if you use one).
  • To change your lesson, click Cancel or Reschedule in the email or calendar entry.


How do I cancel my subscription or lessons?

  • You can cancel your subscription at any time via your Account page.
  • If you cancel after the first lesson, you are eligible for a full refund. Contact Lingopie Support to process it.


What happens if I am late for my lesson?

  • Teachers wait 15 minutes after the lesson starts.
  • Time missed will be deducted from the lesson.
  • No-shows without cancellation will be charged.
  • Lessons rescheduled within 12 hours of the start time are also considered no-shows, as the time slot was reserved for you and cannot be booked by other students.


What happens if my teacher is late?

  • Contact support if the teacher hasn’t arrived 5 minutes after the lesson starts.
  • You won’t be charged, and we’ll ensure it doesn’t happen again.


What if I’m unsatisfied with a lesson?

  • You can cancel your subscription and get a refund (see above).
  • If you’d like to share feedback about your lessons or overall experience, our Product and Teachers teams are always happy to chat. Just schedule a call, and we’ll reach out at a time that works for you.


Who will benefit from these lessons?

  • Everyone is welcome, no matter your language level — from beginner to advanced. Right now, lessons are available for adults.
  • Currently, we have private lessons available in Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese.
